Female: A-B, habitus (left lateral side); C, last somites of urosome (laft lateral side); D, P1; E, forehead (lateral); F, P5; G, A1; H, A2.

Plate 2 issued from : Y. Al-Yamani, V. Skryabin, A. Gubanova, S. khvorov & I. Prusova in Marine Zooplankton Practical Guide for the Northwestern Arabian Gulf, 2, 2011. [p.121, Fig.270];
Female (from Kuwait): a-b, habitus (dorsal and right lateral, respectively).

Nota : Urosome 4-segmented; the last 3 urosomal somites with transverse rows of spinules.
Caudal rami outer apical seta short ; the inner seta 1.2-1.4 times longer than the body length.
Endopodite segment 1 of P1 with inner distal seta reaching the distal end of endopodite segment 2.
P5 endopod (i.e. distal segment) with 2 apical setae of which the inner one longer, 1 relatively short inner lateral seta, and 1 accessory seta on posterior surface at central part.
Plate 3 issued from : Y. Al-Yamani, V. Skryabin, A. Gubanova, S. khvorov & I. Prusova in Marine Zooplankton Practical Guide for the Northwestern Arabian Gulf, 2, 2011. [p.121, Fig.271].
Male: a-b, habitus (dorsal and left lateral, respectively).

Nota : Urosome 5-somites.
Caudal rami inner seta 1.3-1.5 times longer than the body length.
P5 exopod with 2 apical setae of which the inner one longer, and 1 accessory seta on posterior surface ; basal outer seta 0.5 times as long as exopod inner seta

Remarks

For Al-Yamani & Prusova (2001, p.113) the species is very close to M. rosea (Dana, 1847), but differs from the latter one in shorter caudal rami inner apical seta (in M. rosea caudal ramui apical setae nearly twice the body length) and in details of P1 and P5 armament.
