Cymbasoma concepcionae Suarez-Morales & Morales-Ramirez, 2003 (F) | |
| | | | | | Ref.: | | | Suarez-Morales & Morales-Ramirez, 2003 (p.207, figs.F) | Issued from : E. Suarez-Morales & A. Morales-Ramirez in Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 2003, 116 (1). [p.208, Fig.1]. Female (from 10°36'17.0''N, 85°39'36.6''W): A-B, habitus (dorsal and lateral, respectively); C, detail of ventral nipple-like processes; D, cephalic area showing ventral cuticular processes; E, cephalic area (lateral view); F, cuticular ridges on dorsal surface posterior to ocelli; G, distal ends of ovigerous spines (ventral). Nota: - Cephalothorax representing almost 61% of total body length (measured from anterior end of cephalothorax to posterior end of anal somite). - Oral papilla protuberant, located ventrally a quarter the length of cephalothorax; - Pair of ocelli present, pigment cups joined medially, well developed, weakly pigmented in central portion, round in dorsal view. - Sensilla not observed. - A1 4-segmented, relatively short, less than 14% of total body length, and 22% as long as cephalothorax. - Ovigerous spines paired, relatively long, inserted in a protuberant base visible in lateral view, separated at base, equalling almost 43% of total body length; tips of both spines setarated from each other, with slight but distinct subterminal narrowing

Issued from : E. Suarez-Morales & A. Morales-Ramirez in Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 2003, 116 (1). [p.209, Fig.2]. Female: A, urosome and P5 (ventral); B, genital double-somite and anal somite plus caudal rami (dorsal); C, 5th pediger and anterior part of genital double-somite (lateral); D, rihjt A1 (dorsal); E, distal segment of left A1 (ventral); F, 3rd free pediger and urosome (lateral), protoendopod of P4 shown, P5 omitted to show ventral cuticular processes, caudal rami cut short. Nota: - P5 separated at base, unsegmented, each consisting of relatively large, lobe-like exopod; 3 setae present, outer 25% longer than terminal; inner seta narrower and shorter, about 50% as long as outer seta; all 3 setae with sparse, biserial setules. - Urosome 3-segmented. - Genital double-somite relatively large, ratio of its length and anal somite 69.5 : 30.5 = 100. - Caudal rami subrectangular, widely divergent, about 1.5 times longer than wide, each bearing 3 setae, all of almost the same length and width.

Issued from : E. Suarez-Morales & A. Morales-Ramirez in Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 2003, 116 (1). [p.210, Table 2]. Selected taxonomic features in Cymbasoma concepcionae. GDS = anterior half genital double-somite globose; IS = inner seta of P5 smallest; IS <50% = inner seta <50% as long as others; L = longest seta on P5; OP on CT = position of oral papilla on cephalothorax; AI/CT = relative length (as a percent) of A1 to cephalothorax; = relative length (as a percent) of position of oral papilla anteriorly on cephalothorax; T = transverse striations on ''neck'' area. Compare with species of Cymbasoma with uniramous P5 armed with 3 setae: C. reticulatum, C. bowmani, C. quintanarooense, C. boxshalli, C. bali, C. frondipes, C. striatum, C. claparedi, C. tumorifrons.
