Female: A, habitus (dorsal); B, prosome (lateral right side); C, urosome (lateral right side); D, P5 (posterior view). Male: E, habitus (dorsal); F, portion of prosome and urosome (lateral right side); G, P5 (posterior view); H, idem (anterior view).

issued from : K. Hirakawa in Bull. Plankton Soc. Japan, 1983, 30 (1). [p.68, Table 1]. Female & Female: Comparison of the morphological characters in P. nihonkaensis and P. cornutus Nicholls, 1944. Nota: The original description by Nicholls (1944) is incomplete in some details. After examination of the type specimens of P. cornutus, I propose to correct as follows: Female: 1 - The inner distal corner of the 1st exopod segment of P5 is not triangular form, but round; 2- The genital somite bears several patches of strong spines on the right lateral side. Male: The outer lamelliform plate in the right endopod of P5 bears spinules on its distal margin.
