Distribution map of Kunihulsea antarctica by geographical zones
epibenthic (depth: 1983 m). Schulz (2004, p.209) points to the large outer spines on exopodal segments of the swimming legs 2 to 3 and the short A1 seems to be indicative of the hyperbenthic nature of the species, contrasting the oceanic bathypelagic mode of life in K. arabica.
