Figures

Plate 1 issued from : M. Ali, F. Al-Yamani & I. Prusova in Crustaceana, 2007, 80 (2). [p.197, Fig.1].
Female (from 29°99N, 48°04 E): a-b, habitus (dorsal and lateral, respectively); c, rostrum; d-e, urosome (dorsal and lateral, respectively); f, A1; g, A2.
Scale bars: 0.01 mm (a, b, d-g); 0.005 mm (c).

Nota: A1 symmetrical, 23-segmented. A2 exopod 7-segmented; endopod 2-segmented, proximal segment with 2 setae, distal segment with medial lobe bearing 9 setae, and with distal portion with 6 setae.
Plate 2 issued from : M. Ali, F. Al-Yamani & I. Prusova in Crustaceana, 2007, 80 (2). [p.199, Fig.2].
Female: a, Md; b, Mx1; c, Mx2; d, Mxp;
Scale bars: 0.05 mm (a-c); 0.01 mm (d).

Md exopod indistinctly 5-segmented (setal formula 1, 1, 1, 1, 2); proximal endopodal segment with 4 setae, distal segment with 10 setae. mx1 with 1st praecoxal arthrite carrying 9 stout terminal spines and 4 posterior and 1 anterior setae; praecoxal arthrites 2-4 with 3, 4, 4, setae, respectively; endopod not articulated with basis, with 13 setae; exopod with 11 marginal setae; coxal endite 2 indistinct, coxal endite 1 with 7 stout and 3 fine setae. Mx2 indistinctly 6-segmented, comprising partially coalesced praecoxa and coxa, allobasis, and 3-segmented endopod; armature of praecoxal and coxal endites 5, 3, 3, 3, respectively; basal endite with 4 setae; endopodal endite with 1 distal seta; free endopod with 7 setae. mxp 7-segmented, with syncoxa, basis plus partially incorporated 1st endopodal segment, and free 5-segmented endopod.
Plate 3 issued from : M. Ali, F. Al-Yamani & I. Prusova in Crustaceana, 2007, 80 (2). [p.200, Fig.3].
Female: a-d, P1 to P4; e, P5.
Scale bars: 0.01 mm (a-d); 0.05 mm (e).
P5 strongly reduced, represented by a pair of rounded lobes lacking any vestige of esgmentation of armature.
Plate 4 issued from : M. Ali, F. Al-Yamani & I. Prusova in Crustaceana, 2007, 80 (2). [p.200, Table.I].
Female: Armature of the swimming legs.
Aranic numerals indicate setae; Roman numerals indicate spines.
Plate 5 issued from : M. Ali, F. Al-Yamani & I. Prusova in Crustaceana, 2007, 80 (2). [p.202, Fig.4].
Male: a-b, habitus (dorsal and lateral, respectively); c, rostrum; d, urosome (dorsal); e, A2; f, Mxp; g-j, P1 to P4; k, P5.
Scale bars: 0.01 mm (a, b, d-k); 0.05 mm (c).

1 non-geniculate, 19-segmented with the presence of vestige of articulation in segment 1 (ancestral segments I-IV), XI-XII (vestige of articulation between segments expressed antero-dorsally) and XXVII-XXVIII. A2 biramous but with modified exopod (indistinctly segmented); endopod 2-segmented. Mxp 4-segmented. Md, Mx1 and Mx2 highly reduced. P5 strongly asymmetrical; right leg rudimentary; left leg uniramous, 5-segmented, longer than urosome, segments 1 (coxa) and 2 (basis) more robust than exopodal segments, apical segment terminating in 2 spines (inner 5 times as long as as outer and 0.8 times as long as the segment).
Rem.: The location of the \"hump\" of the head in lateral view is in the middle of the distance between the anterior end of the head and the border of pedigerous somite 2 (as is B. similisA
Plate 6 issued from : M. Ali, F. Al-Yamani & I. Prusova in Crustaceana, 2007, 80 (2). [p.203, Table.II].
Presence and number of spinules on the anterior surface of the exopods and endopods of legs P2-P4 of the six described Bestiolina.
Plate 7 issued from : S.Y. Moon, W. Lee & H.Y. Soh in Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 2010, 123 (1). [p.44, Table 1].
Presence and number of spinules on the anterior surface of the exopods and endopods of swimming legs 2 - 4. from Ali & al., 2007.
These characteristics were taken from Ali & al. (2007).
Plate 8 issued from : Y. Al-Yamani, V. Skryabin, A. Gubanova, S. khvorov & I. Prusova in Marine Zooplankton Parctical Guide for the Northwestern Arabian Gulf, 2, 2011 [p.21, Fig.130, d-e].
Some individuals of Bestiolina arabica have features both female and male. These forms have swollen genital somite same as typical female and underdeveloped P5.
