Galbraith (2009, pers. comm.) does not admit the synonymy with Centraugaptilus macrodus (Esterly, 1911); for Brodsky, 1950 (1967, p.389) this species is not identical with C. rattrayi, but this author does not found these two species. It seems necessary to find and rediscribe C. macrodus in the californian waters because the drawings of Esterly are perhaps inadequacy.
