| | | | | | Syn.: | Euaugaptilus sp.3 Grice & Hulsemann, 1967 (p.37, figs.M); Matthews, 1972 (p.45) | | | Ref.: | | | Tanaka & Omori, 1974 (p.209, figs.F); Roe, 1975 (p.351, figs.F, Rem.M); Vives & Shmeleva, 2007 (p.217, figs.F,M, Rem.) | issued from : O. Tanaka & M. Omori in Publs Seto Mar. Biol. Lab., 1974, XXI (3/4). [p.210, Fig.8]. Female: a, forehead (lateral); b, last thoracic segment and urosome (lateral left side); c, rostrum (frontal view); d, A2; e, Md; f, Mx1; g, Mx2; h, Mxp; i, P1; j, P4; k, P5. Nota: The urosome segments and furca are in the proportional lengths as 40:13:20:27 = 100. Prosome and urosome are in the proportional lengths as 80:20.

issued from : G.D. Grice & K. Huisemann in Proc. U.S. natn. Mus., 1967, 122 (3583). [p.61, Figs.231-238]. As Euaugaptilus species 3. Male (from 22°11'S, 64°53'E): 231, habitus (dorsal); 232, idem (lateral left side); 233, forehead (lateral); 234, A2; 235, Md (mandible palp); 236, Md (cutting edge); 237, Mx1; 238, Mx2. Nota: Head and 1st thoracic segment fused, 4th and 5th fused. Anal segment twice the length of the preceding segment. Rostrum knoblike, with 2 short filaments. A1 exceeds furca by last 2 segments, left geniculate. Endopod of A2 about 4 times longer than exopod. Distal setae of Mx2 and Mxp with numerous \"buttons\". Swimming legs with 3-segmented exopods and endopods. For Grice & Hulsemann, the head appendages resemble those of the famale of E. rigidus (Sars), but the authors are unable to refer this male to a described species. The size of the present male (6.16 mm) exceeds that of the female, up to Roe (1975).

issued from : H.S.J. Roe in Bull. British Mus. (Natural History) Zool., London, 1975, 28 (7). [p.352, Fig.16, a-h]. Female (Cape verde Islands): a, habitus (dorsal); b, forehead (right lateral side); c, Md; d, Mx1; e, Mxp; f, P1; g, P2; h, P5. bar scale 0.1 mm unless indicated. Nota: The present female differs from Tanaka & Omori's specimen in minor details: Bar scale 0.1 mm unless indicated. <

Distribution map of Euaugaptilus fecundus by geographical zones
|
| | | | | | Loc: | | | Cape Verde Is., off Mauritania, W Indian, Indonesia (Celebes Sea), Japan (Izu) | | | N: | 5 | | | Lg.: | | | (8) F: 6,4; (67) M: 6,16; (68) F: 5,82; {F: 5,82-6,40; M: 6,16} | | | Rem.: | bathypelagic. According to Roe (1975, p.351) this species is the female of the male described as Euaugaptilus sp.3 by Grice & Hulsemann (1967). Except for normal sexual differences the only real difference between the females and the male is in the segmentation of P1. Intraspecific variation occurs in Euaugaptilus, however, both in the setation of the mouthparts and in the segmentation of P1 (Matthews, 1972). First occurrence in Indonesian waters by Matsuura & al. (2010) | | | Last update : 18/08/2018 | |
