Ref.:
Grice & Hulsemann, 1967 (p.18, 32, Descr.F, figs.F); Matthews, 1972 (p.31)
Species Euaugaptilus fundatus - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : G.D. Grice & K. Huisemann in Proc. U.S. Nat. Mus., 1967, 122 (3583). [p.58, Figs.187-192].
Female: 187, habitus (dorsal); 188, idem (lateral right side); 189, Md (mandibular palp); 190, Md (biting edge); 191, Mx1; 192, P1.
Nota: Head and 1st thoracic segment separate, 4th and 5th fused. Rostral filaments slender. A1 exceeding end of furca by about last 3 segments. Mandible blade with 2 strong teeth, each with a small side tooth, and one large seta. 1st inner lobe of Mx1 with 4 spines; 2nd and 3rd inner lobes absent; fused 2nd basipodal segment and endopodal with 1 seta; exopod with 5 setae, the two terminal ones largest; external lobes with 5 setae, the middle one being the largest. Number of setae on lobes 1-6 in Mx2: 3, 2, 2, 2, 2, 1, respectively. Mxp with 2 setae each on lobes 3-5.Abdomen 3-segmented, genital segment longer than the two following combined.

Distribution map of Euaugaptilus fundatus by geographical zones
Loc:
W Indian (13°N, 70°E)
N: 1
Lg.:
(67) F: 3,64; {F: 3,64}
Rem.: bathypelagic.Recorded at a depth range of 1000-2000 m (Matthews, 1972).
For Grice & Hulsemann (1967, p.32) this species resembles E. longiseta and E. curtus. It is distinguised from these by the structure of the Md, Mx1 and Mx2.

In ''affinis"" Group after Matthews (1972, p.64) {See remarks in Euaugaptilus genus}.
