Euaugaptilus longiseta Grice & Hülsemann, 1965 (F,M) | |
| | | | | | Ref.: | | | Grice & Hülsemann, 1965 (p.224, 247, Descr.F, figs.F); 1967 (p.32, Descr.M, figs.M); Matthews, 1972 (p.35) | issued from : G.D. Grice & K. Huisemann in Proc. U.S. natn. Mus., 1967, 122 (3583). [p.59, Figs.193-195]. Male (frm Indian Ocean): 193, Md (biting edge); 194, Mx1; 195, P5 (terminal segment of right endopod incomplete). Nota: Rostrum small with slender filaments. Right caudal ramus shorter than left. A1 exceeds end of furca by last 4 segments. Exopod of A2 with 7 segments. Md palpus biramous, blade as in female. Mx1 with 1 seta on fused 2nd basal segment and endopod, 5 setae on exopod. Number of setae on lobes 1-6 of Mx2: 2, 2, 2, 3, 2, 1, respectively. Number of setae on lobes 1-5 of Mxp: 1, 2, 3, 2, 2, respectively. Although Mx1 has no 2nd inner lobe and fewer setae on the fused 2nd basal segments and endopod (one rather than 3 setae as in the female), the other head appendages agree well with those of the female. The male has not heretofore been described and represents a new record for the Indian Ocean.

issued from : G.D. Grice & K. Hulsemann in J. Zool., 1965, 146. [p.248, Fig.18, b-f]. Female (from Azores): b, habitus (dorsal); c, urosome (lateral left side); ; d, Md (cutting edge); e, Mx1; f, P5. Nota: Head and 1st thoracic segment partly fused, 4th and 5th fused. Rostral filaments very long. Genital segment slightly longer than the following two combined, dilated in the middle. A1 exceeds furca by last 6 segments. Mx1 with 1 seta on3rd (or 2nd) inner lobe, 3 setae on second basal segment and endopod, 6 setae on exopod. Endopods and exopods of P1-P5 3-segmented. Seta on external margin of 2nd basipod segment of P5 longer than entire exopod.
