Euaugaptilus quaesitus  Grice & Hülsemann, 1967   (F)
Grice & Hülsemann, 1967 (p.19, 34, Descr.F, figs.F); Matthews, 1972 (p.40)
Species Euaugaptilus quaesitus - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : G.D. Grice & K. Huisemann in Proc. U.S. natn. Mus., 1967, 122 (3583). [p.59, Figs.204-208; p.60, Fig.209].
Female (from Indian Ocean: 204, habitus (lateral right side); 205, forehead (lateral); 206, Md (biting edge); 207, Mx1; 208, P1; 209, P5.

Nota: Head and 1st thoracic segment separate, 4th and 5th fused. Genital segment longer than the 2 following combined. Rostrum consisting of 2 points, rostral filaments absent. A1 barely reaching furca. Exopod of A2 8-segmented, segments 7 and 8 incompletely separated, exopod and endopod of equal length. Mandible blade with 2 widely separated strong teeth and 1 slender tooth near the seta. 1st inner lobe of Mx1 with 4 spines; 2nd and 3rd inner lobes absent; fused 2nd basipodal segment and endopod with 1 seta; exopod with 5 setae, the two terminal ones largest; external lobe with 3 setae of equal length. Number of setae on lobes 1-6 of Mx2: 2, 2, 1, 2, 2, 1, respectively. Number of setae on lobes 1-5 of Mxp: 0, 3, 3, 2, 2, respectively. Exopod of P1 consisting of 3 segments, endopod of 2 segments. Exopods and endopods of P2 to P4 3-segmented. Exopod and endopod of P5 2-segmented.

Distribution map of Euaugaptilus quaesitus by geographical zones
NW Indian (10°04'N, 64°59'E)
N: 1
(67) F: 1,4; {F: 1,40}
Rem.: bathy-abyssopelagic. Recorded at a depth between 275 and 2250 m (Matthews, 1972).
For Grice & Hulsemann (1967, p.34) this species resembles E. fundatus and close to E. hecticus. E. quaesitus differs from E. humilis in its shorter A1 and the structure of Md and Mx1.

In ''affinis"" Group after Matthews (1972, p.64) {See remarks in Euaugaptilus genus}
