Mx2 with 5 well-defined lobes bearing 3, 2, 1, 3, 2 setae, respectively; long and coarse setae on distal lobe and on end of appendage. Mxp with coarse setae distally. Exopods of P1 to P4 3-segmented. Endopods of P1 1-segmented, of P2 to P4 3-segmented. 2nd basal segment of P3 with distolateral spinelike protrusion. For Grice & Hulsemann (1967, p.41) the male of Z. abyssalis Brodsky is not known. It is unlikely that the present specimen is the male of Z. abyssalis because the sizes of the two species.
