Ref.:
McKinnon & Dixon, 1994 (p.9, figs.F,M)
Species Centropages acutus - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : A.D. McKinnon A.D. & P. Dixon in Beagle, 1994, 11 (0). [p.10, Fig. 1].
Female (Fly River delta, Papua New Guinea: a-b, habitus (dorsa and lateral, respectivelyl); c-d, urosome (ventral and lateral, respectively); e, right A1.

Nota: Forehead sharply pointed in dorsal view), in lateral view apex dorsal, tapering away ventrally into strong rostrum. 5th thoracic segment drawn posteriorly into sharp recurved points. Genital complex with 2 postero-lateral spines, extending posteriorly as far as anterior margin of urosome segment 3; urosome segment 2 with 2 small lappet-like processes on ventral surface, one on either side of mid-line; urosome segment 3 with large asymmetrical process on ventro-posterior surface, biased toward right-hand side, bearing 2 strong spines, one directed posteriorly, the other postero-laterally, toward right hand side. Caudal rami slightly asymmetrical. A1 symmetrical, 22-segmented, with large pointed posteriorly directed process on postero-lateral margin of segment 1, segment 10 with a robust thorn on the outer distal margin. A2 comprises coxa with 1 seta, basis with 2 setae, endopod 2-segmented, exopod 7-segmented. Md palp comprises coxa with 4 setae, exopod 4-segmented and endopod 2-segmented.

Species Centropages acutus - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : A.D. McKinnon A.D. & P. Dixon P. in Beagle, 1994, 11 (0). [p.11, Fig. 2].
Female: a-d, P1 to P4 (anterior); e, P5 (anterior).

Nota: P5 exopod 1 with pronounced excavation on inner proximal margin, segment 2 with ensiform process produced from inner margin (process denticulate along distal half).

Species Centropages acutus - Plate 3 of morphological figuresissued from : A.D. McKinnon A.D. & P. Dixon P. in Beagle, 1994, 11 (0). [p.12, Fig. 3].
Female: a, Mxp.

Male: b, habitus (dorsal); c, right A1; d, right A1 (segments 17-20); e, right P5 (anterior); f, left P5 (anterior).

Nota: Left A1 22-segmented; right A1 21-segmented (segments 19 and 20 fused), geniculate between segments 18 and 19, segments 17, 18 with row of spinules along anterior margin, segment 19 with complex row of spinules on proximal 2/3, terminating in spine lying along margin segment. Right P5 exopod 3-segmented; left P5 exopod 2-segmented
