Species Centropages halinus - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : McKinnon & Kimmerer in Rec. West. Austr. Mus., 14 (2). 1988. [Fig.1, 2, p.174, 175].
Female from Shark Bay, W Australia): a, habitus (dorsal view); b, idem (lateral view); c, urosome (ventral view); d-g, P1 to P4; h, P5.

Nota: Nota : Pedigerous segment 5 drawn posteriorly into short points, nearly symmetrical. Urosome 3-segmented, , glabrous except for patch of hairs on right lateral margin of genital complex. A1 24-segmented, bearing a marginal thorn on the anterior of each segments 2, 3 and 6. A2 with endopod 2-segmented, exopod 7-segmented. Endopod of Md 2-segmented, exopod 4-segmented. Basis and endopod segments of Mx1 fused with 9 setae, single distinct endopod segment with 5 setae, lobe representing exopod with 9 setae mx2 2-segmented, basal segment with 4 lobes bearing 5, 3, 3, 3 setae, respectively ; terminal segment of 2 lobes bearing 3, 8 setae. Mxp 7-segmented with setal armature 10, 3, 5, 4, 3, 4, 5. Swimming legs P1 to P3 with endopods 2-segmented, P4 3-segmented. P5 with typical centropaid ensiform process produced from inner margin of exopod 2 ; process denticulate at distal extremity.

Species Centropages halinus - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : McKinnon & Kimmerer in Rec. West. Austr. Mus., 14 (2). 1988. [Fig.1, 2, p.174, 175].
Male: a, habitus (dorsal view); b, right A1 (segments 17, 18 and 19; c, right P5 (posterior view); d, left P5 (anterior view).

Nota: Nota : Left A1 24-segmented ; right 22-segmented, geniculate between segments 18 and 19 ; segments 17, 18 with row of spinules produced from anterior margin, segment 19 with complex row of spinules on proximal 1/3, terminating in spine lying along margin of segment. Swimming legs P1 to P4 similar to those of the female.

Species Centropages halinus - Plate 3 of morphological figuresIssued from : M.M. El-Sherbiny & A.M. Al-Aidaroos in Zootaxa, 2015, 3911 (3). [p.408, Table 2].
Female & Male: morphological features.
Compare with C. orsinii and C. mohamedi.

Rem.: In hypersaline environment.
For McKinnon & Kimmerer (1988, p.173) this species appears closely related to C. orsinii and occurs together in the Shark Bay region. C. halinus appears to be limited to the hypersaline inner regions of the bay (salinities : 39.0 to 44.4 ppt).
For El-Sherbiny & Al-Aidaroos, (2015, p.407) this species falls within the orsinni species-group.
