Species Centropages longicornis - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : Mori T. in The pelagic Copepoda from the neignbouring waters of Japan. S. Shirai ed., Tokyo, 1937; 2nd edit. 1964. [Pl.30, Figs.8-11].
Female (25°16'N, 124°22'E): 8, P5; 9, habitus (dorsal view); 10, urosome (ventral view); 11, urosome (lateral view).

Nota:
- Corners of last thoracic segment rounded.
- Genital segment without spinules; largely swelled on the ventral side and makes a ball-like dilatation.
- Caudal rami symmetrical; ramus more than 3 times as long as its width.
- A1 extend beyond the end of caudal rami by the last 5 segments.
- P5 with a notch on the inner margin of the 1st exopodal segment; the inner marginal spine of the 2nd segment of exopodite not reaches to the end of the 3rd segment.

Species Centropages longicornis - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : Tanaka O. in Publs Seto mar. biol. Lab., 1963, 11 (1). [Fig.152, p.10].
Female: a, habitus (dorsal view); b, Th5 and urosome with spermatophore attached (lateral view); c, P5.

Species Centropages longicornis - Plate 3 of morphological figuresissued from: Q.-c Chen & S.-z. Zhang in Studia Marina Sinica, 1965, 7. [Pl.28, 1-2].
Female (from E China Sea): 1, habitus (dorsal); 2, idem (lateral right side).

Species Centropages longicornis - Plate 4 of morphological figuresIssued from : M. Chihara & M. Murano in An Illustrated Guide to Marine Plankton in Japan, 1997. [p.771, Pl. 84, fig.116 a-c]. After Mori (1937).
Female: a, habitus (dorsal); b, P5; c, urosome (ventral).

Nota: numbers show remarkable characteristics of this species.

For Mori (1937 [1964], p.62) this species is allied to C. violaceus and C. calaninus.
The locality records of this species outside the Sino-Japanese and Californian waters are suprising.
After Itoh (1970 a, fig.2 from co-ordinates), the Itoh 's index value of the mandibular gnathobase = 880.
