Sampling depth (sub-Antarct.) : 0-500 m.
For Frost & Fleminger (1968, p.41) C. ingens female is distinguished from laticeps by the length-width ratio of the caudal ramus and the form and spacing of basipodite 2 spiniform processes 2 and 3 of P3. C. ingens male differs from laticeps in the Prosome/Urosomal segment 2 length ratio, the form of basipodite 2 spiniform processes of P3, and the length-width ratio of the caudal ramus. C. ingens was confused with laticeps by Tanaka (1960), and it is likely that the two species have been confused by others.
Lo & al. (2004) seem to indicate for the first time the presence of this species in the NW Pacific (north of Taiwan), and Zakaria & al. (2016) in the East Mediterranean Sea (Egyptian coast).
