This species requires a rediscription.
See remarks in Ctenocalanus heronae.
Prado-Por (1984, p.90) points to the remarkable coexistance of the two species (C. campaneri and C. tageae) in the Gulf of Elat (Red Sea); they have similar seasonal and bathymetric densities and even their maxillary filtrating setae have a more or less similar mesh sizes.
