Distribution map of Diaixis asymmetrica by geographical zones
|
| | | Loc: | | | NW Atlant. (off S Woods Hole), SE Atlant., W South Africa.
Type locality: 39°45.2' N, 70°33.8' W. | | | N: | 3 | | | Lg.: | | | (200) F: 1,22; (881) F: 1,18-1,28; M: 1,22; {F: 1,18-1,28; M: 1,22} | | | Rem.: | hyperbenthic. (1750-1822 m; 795-920 m). Grice & Hülsemann (1970, p.193) point out the presence of 2 sensory setae on the exopod of Mx1 that is a distinctive characteristic of this species , and one which the authors have not observed in truly pelagic species.
