- Posterolateral corners of cephalothorax asymmetrical, left side pointed, right side lobate.
- Genital segment with 2 protrusions dorsally and 1 protrusion ventrally.
- 2nd abdominal segment with cuticular elevations ventrally and laterally.
- A1 24-segmented, segments 8 and 9 fused; segment 1 through 21 with 1 or more rows of small spines reaching to 4th thoracic segment.
- A2 with endopod less than 1/2 of length of exopod.
- Basal segment of Md palp with 2 setae; gnathobase elongate and bearing 4 rounded teeth and 2 slender setae-like structures.

Loc:
NW Atlant. (off S Woods Hole), SE Atlant., W South Africa.

Type locality: 39°45.2' N, 70°33.8' W.

Grice & Hülsemann (1970, p.193) point out the presence of 2 sensory setae on the exopod of Mx1 that is a distinctive characteristic of this species , and one which the authors have not observed in truly pelagic species.
