Species Aetideopsis cristata - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : O. Tanaka in Publ. Seto Mar. Biol. Lab., 1957, VI (1). [p.43, Fig.28].
Female (from Sagami Bay): habitus (dorsal); b, forehead (lateral); c, last thoracic segment and genital segment; d, rostrum; e, Mx2; f, P1; g, P2.

Nota: Head with chitinised median crest, separates from 1st thoracic segment, 4th and 5th separate. Cephalothorax integument finely granulated. Rostrum with points straight and parallel. Proportional lengths of urosomites and furca 25:23:19:14:19 = 100. A1 extends to distal margin of 3rd urosomal segment. Mx1: 1st outer lobe with 7 long and 2 short setae, 2nd outer lobe without seta, exopod with 10 setae, second basal with 8 setae, endopod with 4+3+6 setae, 1st inner lobe with 14 setae, 2nd with 6 setae, 3rd with 4 setae.

Male: h, forehead (lateral); i, last thoracic segment and genital segment (right lateral side); j, idem (half dorsal view); k, rostrum; l, Mx1; m, P5.
Nota: head and 1st thoracic segment completely fused, 4th and 5th incompletely articuled. Cephalothorax integument finely granulated. Rostrum slightly divergent. Proportional lengths of urosomites and furca 12:30:24:19:2:13 = 100. A1 extends to distal margin of 2nd thoracic segment. Mx1 with 9 setae on outer lobe, 9 setae on exopod.

Species Aetideopsis cristata - Plate 2 of morphological figuresAetideopsis cristata female:
1 - Endopod of P1 with external lobe.
2 - Posterior corners of last thoracic segment not wing-like, not divergent (dorsal view). Genital segment (dorsal view) barrel-like without lateral swellings.
3 - Crest present, beginning from rostrum (lateral view). 1st and 2nd external spines of exopodal segments 1 and 2 of P1 short not reaching the middle lenght of next segment.

Species Aetideopsis cristata - Plate 3 of morphological figuresAetideopsis cristata male:
1 - Points of last yjoracic segment exceeding posterior border of urosomal segment 1.
2 - Endopodal segment 1 of P1 with external lobe.
3 - Rostral rami widely spaced, divergent.
4 - External spines of exopodal segments 1 and 2 of P1 not reaching the midlength of next segment.

Species Aetideopsis cristata - Plate 4 of morphological figuresIssued from : M. Chihara & M. Murano in An Illustrated Guide to Marine Plankton in Japan, 1997. [p.698, Pl. 30, fig.16 a-d].
Female: a, forehead (lateral); b, habitus (dorsal); c, rostrum; d, posterior part of last thoracic segment and genital segment..

Nota: numbers show remarkable character.

Species Aetideopsis cristata - Plate 5 of morphological figuresIssued from : M. Chihara & M. Murano in An Illustrated Guide to Marine Plankton in Japan, 1997. [p.699, Pl. 31, fig.16 a-d].
Female: a, forehead (lateral); b, rostrum; c, posterior part of last thoracic segment and genital segment; d, P5.

Nota: numbers show remarkable characters.
