Characters after Wolfenden (1905 a, p.13):
Cephalosome with frontal papilla.
A1 only reaching a little beyond the end of the genital segment. Clasping A1 with 4 segments distinct beyond the elbow, respectively long 50 : 48 : 22 : 10, the last but one four and a half times as long as broad, the last three as long as broad. Relative length of the last five segments of the normal antenna 19 : 18 : 20 : 12 : 9, the last but one two and a half times as long as broad. A1 clothed with long aesthetascs.
A2 with endopod much longer than exopod.
Md with endopod longest; teeth not thickened, and equidistant.
Mx1 long exopod oval with 6 bristles; endopod small with 4 setae; basipod 2 with 2 setae; inner lobe 2 with 2 setae, inner lobe 3 with 1 seta.
Mx2 weak, 5th lobe with a curved hook, combed, and 2 short, thin setae; 6th lobe with hook without combs, but wide apart, short setae on both sides.
Mxp thin, without curved spine on basipod 1 (= coxa).
P3 like P4.
P5: basis of right leg with short distal projection, upper half of margin haired; exopodal segment 2with long process, haired distally, and carrying a short, rather thick seta; exopodal segment 3 short, square, and with very thick long seta at the distal inner margin. Left leg with basis only slightly projecting, and with fine marginal hairs; exopodal segment 2 with 2 long, thin spines; exopodal segment 3 continued into a curved hook with along spine (more than half its length) internal to it. Endopd of right side with 2nd segment elongated, and very thick and long inner marginal seta. Endopod of right side with very elongated 2nd segment, but no marginal seta.
After Pearson '1906, p.27) : vertical range down to 1.100 m in 55°47'N, 12°28'W.
