Ref.:
Park, 2000 (p.47, figs.F,M, Rem.)
Species Heterostylites longioperculis - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : T. Park in Bull. Scripps Inst. Oceanogr. Univ. California, San Diego, 2000, 31. [p.178, Fig.26].
Female: a, habitus (left side); b, c, urosome (left, dorsal, respectively); d, e, genital somite (ventral, left, respectively); f, basipod of right Mxp (anterior); g, exopod of P1 (anterior); h, exopod of P2 (anterior).

Nota: Prosome length 1.88-2.40 mm; about twice as long as urosome.

Species Heterostylites longioperculis - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : T. Park in Bull. Scripps Inst. Oceanogr. Univ. California, San Diego, 2000, 31. [p.179, Fig.27].
Female: a, exopod of P3 (anterior); b, exopod of P4 (anterior); c, P5 (anterior).

Male: d, P5 (distal exopodal segments omitted), anterior; e, P5 (endopods omitted), posterior; f, second exopodal segment of right P5 (anterior), g, h, idem (posterior, tilted clockwise, respectively).

Species Heterostylites longioperculis - Plate 3 of morphological figuresHeterostylites longioperculis female: 1 - Dorsally, genital somite widest at middle.
2 - Ventrally, genital operculum much wider than 1/2 width of somite (Fig.26-d).
3 - Laterally, straight ventral margin of genital somite not extending beyond posterior end of genital operculum (Fig.26-e).
4 - Mxp basis without spinules on distal part.

Species Heterostylites longioperculis - Plate 4 of morphological figuresHeterostylites longioperculis male: 1 - Basal lobe of right P5 relatively short (Fig.27-d); basal lobe of left P5 low and wide.
2 - In 2nd exopodal segment of right P5, medial projection with a short serrated process (Fig.27-g).
3 - Mxp basis without spinules on distal aprt (Fig.26-f).

Rem.: Cf Remark in H. echinatus.
After park (2000, p.143), H. longioperculis and H. echinatus are common Pacific species, the former occurring widely in the low and midlatitudes of the whole Pacific and the latter confined to coastal waters of Central and South America.
