Sampling by vertical closing net in May 1964.

The mean female size is 4.013 mm (n = 11; SD = 0.4164), and the mean male size is 3.323 mm (n = 10; SD = 0.3720). The size ratio (male : female) is 0.83 (n = 6; SD = 0.0287).
Rem.: épi-abyssopélagique. La forme identifiée sous le nom de Pleuromamma abdominalis var. scutullata dans la Mer des Sargasses par Harding, 1974 (p.145, tab.2) est sans doute une erreur.
