Pontellopsis scotti Sewell, 1932 (F,M) | |
| | | | | | Syn.: | Pontellopsis herdmani : Sewell, 1912 (part., p.375, fig.F: Pl.14, fig.5, Rem.); Non Pontellopsis scotti : Kasturirangan, 1963 (p.58 fig.60), after Phukham (2008, p.94, 98) | | | Ref.: | | | Sewell, 1932 (p.388, figs.F,M); 1948 (p.324);Silas, 1972 (p.650); Silas & Pillai, 1973 (1976) (p.844, figs.F, Rem.); Mulyadi, 2002 (p.145, figs.F, Rem.); Othman & Toda, 2006 (p.318, figs.F); Phukham, 2008 (p.97, figs.F) | Issued from : R.B.S. Sewell in Mem. Indian Mus., 1932, X (continued). [p.389, Fig.129].. Female (from N Indian): a, habitus (dorsal); c, A2; d, Mxp; e, P5. Male: b, habitus (dorsal); f, P5.

issued from : E.G. Silas P.P. Pillai in J. mar. biol. Ass. India, 1973 (1976), 15 (2). [p.845, Fig.32]. Female (from Indian Ocean): a, habitus (dorsal); b, urosome (dorsal); c, rostrum (anterior view); d, P5; e, urosome (lateral left side); f, idem (lateral, another specimen). Scale as in Calanopia minor. Remarks: Slight differences noted in the material at hand from the original description are: (1) the asymmetry of the posterior margin of Th5 are not marked as reported by Sewell (1932, p.388) for the specimens from the Burmese Coast; (2) presence of an additional proximal spine in the material at hand is not mentioned in the original description; however, it was observed that the species group comprising of P. herdmani, P. macronyx and P. scotti are highly variable with regard to their morphological features, especially the spinulation of the genital segment.

issued from : Mulyadi in Treubia, 2002, 32; [p.146, Fig.53]. Female (from off Labuan, southwestern Java): a, habitus (dorsal); b, metasomal somite 5 and urosome (dorsal); c-f, P1 to P5; g, P5. Nota: The present specimen differs from the previous description by Sewell (1932) and Silas & Pillai (1973) in having: the posterolateral ends of prosome produced into asymmetrical small and short acuminate lobes; the right margin of urosomal somite 1 with 1 small anterior process and 1 small and short median spine-like process; the middle apical spine of right exopod of P5 relatively large.

issued from : B.H.R. Othman & T. Toda in Coastal Mar. Sc., 2006, 30 (1). [p.318, Fig.23]. Female (from Sister's Island, Singapore): A, habitus (dorsal); B, posterior part of prosome and urosome (dorsal); C, P5. Nota: Cephalon (broadly rounded with small projection over base of rostrum) separated from pedigerous somite 1, pedigerous somites 4 and 5 fused, produced posteriorly into acute processes. - P5 asymmetrical; exopod of left leg shorter than right, with 2 outer spines; exopod of right leg with 4 outer spines, inner margin produced into a stout thick spinuous process. Endopod bibid at tip. - Urosome 2-segmented. - Genital segment asymmetrical; left margin swollen distally, proximal margin with 1 spine; proximal right margin with 2 spines, distal right margin with 1 spine.

issued from : N. Phukham in Species diversity of calanoid copepods in Thai waters, Andaman Sea (Master of Science, Univ. Bangkok). 2008. [p.182, Fig.56]. Female (from W Malay Peninsula): a, habitus (dorsal); b, urosome (dorsal); c, P5. Body length after the drawing: F = 1.471 mm.
