Sargasso Sea: 500-1000 m (Deevey & Brooks, 1977, station "S"); For Deevey (1974, p.456) although only a single immature female was obtained, the structure of Mx2 is sufficiently distinctive, and would be identical in the mature female. This species is closely related to C. subaequalis, C. chainae, C. bispinosa, and has a brachydactyla type of Mx2. It differs from all others except the female of C. reducta Brodsky in lacking an outer edge spine on the exopod of P1. It is most closely related to C. subaequalis Grice & Hulsemann in the structure of Mx2, but it differs from this species in having fewer setae on the 1st basipod segment of Mxp, in lacking spinules on lobes of Mw2, and in having no edge spines on P1 (where C. subaequalis has 2 edge spines. | | | Dernière mise à jour : 26/07/2018 | |
