Scolecithricella timida Tanaka, 1962 (F) | |
| | | | | | Syn.: | Amallothrix timida : Kuriyama & Nishida, 2006 (p.293, 299: Tab.II, p.309: Tab.III, fig.7, 10, vertical distribution) | | | Ref.: | | | Tanaka, 1962 (p.83, Descr.F, figs.F); Grice & Hulsemann, 1967 (p.17, 27, figs.F); Wheeler, 1970 (p.11, figs.F); Bradford, 1973 (p.143); Bradford & al., 1983 (p.78); Vyshkvartzeva, 1999 (2000) (p.235, Rem.) | issued from : O. Tanaka in Publ. Seto Mar. Biol. Lab., 1962, X (1). [p.84, Fig.148]. Female (Sagami Bay): a, habitus (dorsal); b, forehead (left lateral side); c, last thoracic segment and the segments 1-2 of the urosome (left lateral side); d, rostrum (dorsal view); e, Mxp; f, P1; g, P2; h, P5. Nota Female: - Head and 1st pedigeous segment fused, 4th and 5th pedigers incompletely fused, line of fusion visible on the middorsal region. - Cephalothorax and abdomen in the proportional lengths about 4 ( 11.22 : 0.3). - Forehead margin evenly rounded. Posterolateral corners of the last thoracic segment slightly produced. - Rostrum composed of 2 robust spines which terminate each in a short pointed filament. - Urosome 4-segmented: abdominal segments and caudal rami in the proportional lengths 41 : 20 : 18 : 6 : 15 = 100. - Genital segment slightly swollen ventrally. - Abdominal segments 1 to 3 with finely teeth on the distal border. - Caudal rami about as long as wide. - A2 exopod 1.3 times as long as endopod. - Mx1 with 7 long setae and 2 short setae on the outer lobe; 8 setae on exopod; 3 setae on the 2nd basal segment; 3 setae on the 3rd inner lobe ; 2 setae on the 2nd inner lobe. - Mx2 with 5 bud-like and 3 vermiform filaments on the segments of the endopod. The bud-like filaments are moderately large at the distal end. - Mxp with the 1st basal segment as long as the 2nd. - P1 with an outer edge spine on the 1st exopodal segment; 2nd and 3rd exopodal segments furnished with rows of minute spines on posterior surface; coxa with a ridge near the outer distal margin; basis with a group of minute spines near the distal border at the base of endopod. - P2 with a long and slightly curved outer edge spine on the 1st exopodal segment - P5 2-segmented, resembles that of Scolecithrix valens Farran, 1926, in the terminal segment the inner marginal spine is about as long as the distal segment, and arises from the distal 1/3 of the inner margin, apical spine short; outer marginal spine small, and arises opposite to the inner marginal spine.

issued from : G.D. Grice & K. Huisemann in Proc. U.S. natn. Mus., 1967, 122 (3583). [p.54, Figs.115-123]. Female (from Indian Ocean): 115, habitus (dorsal); 116, 4th and 5th thoracic segments and urosome (lateral right side); 117, forehead (lateral); 118, Md; 119, Mx1; 120, Mxp; 121, P1; 122, P2 (2nd and 3rd exopodal segments broken off); 123, P5.

Issued from : E.H. Wheeler, Jr in Smiths. Contr. Zool., 1970, 55. [p.24, Figs.49-50]. Female (from equatorial region of N Alantic): 49, P5; 50, P2 (segments 2, 3 of endopod and segment 3 of exopod missing). Nota: P5 shows clearly a 3-segmented, uniramous leg of P5, contrary to Tanaka and Grice & Hulsemann.
