Bathyidia remota  Farran, 1926   (F,M)
Syn.: Tisbe remota : Lang, 1948 a (p.383, figs.F)
Ref.:
Farran, 1926 (p.299, Descr.F, figs.F); Boxshall, 1979 (p.212, Descr.M, figs.F,M); Huys & Boxshall, 1991 (p.114, 352, fig.); Vives & Shmeleva, 2010 (p.131, figs.F,M, Rem.)
Espèce Bathyidia remota - Planche 1 de figures morphologiquesissued from : G.A. Boxshall in Bull. Br. Mus. nat. Hist. (Zool.), 1979, 35 (3). [p.210, Fig.3].
Female (Holotype: Bay of Biscay): A, A1; B, A2; C, urosome (ventral); D, Md 'palp'; E, Mx1; F, Mx2; G, Mxp; H, P1; I, middle setae of 3rd endopod segments from both P1.
Scales 0.1 mm.
Nota: Prosome incompletely known. Urosome 4-segmented; genital complex and urosomites 3, 4 and 5 provided with ventral and ventrolateral rows of spinules along posterior borders. Genital area with 2 short naked setae either side of oviduct openings, a 3rd seta was probably present but missing from the holotype. Caudal ramus 2.2-2.6 times longer than greatest width, armed with 2 lateral setae in proximal half of ramus (the lateral being 6.6-6.9 times longer than the ventro-lateral one), an oblique spinule row proximal to the outer distal angle, 2 long setae on the inner portion of the distal margin and 2 elements towards the outer end of the distal margin; the latter 2 elements are flaccid and subdivided giving a forked appearance. Relative lengths of A1 segments 15:19:15:14:7:9:5:16. P5 with incomplete armature in holotype but traces of absent setae indicate armature similar to male.

Espèce Bathyidia remota - Planche 2 de figures morphologiquesissued from : G.A. Boxshall in Bull. Br. Mus. nat. Hist. (Zool.), 1979, 35 (3). [p.211, Fig.4].
Male: A, habitus (dorsal); B, A1; C, A2; D, Md; E, Mx1; F, Mx2; G, Mxp; H, P5.
Scales 0.1 mm unless otherwise indicated.
Nota: Prosome 4-segmented; urosome 6-segmented. P5 with single inner on basoendopod about as long as free segment; free segment about 2.9 longer than wide, its ventral surface covered with minute denticles and lateral surface with long spinules; bearing a plumose seta at distal end. P6 comprising 3 long naked setae situated laterally on genital lobes of urosome somite 2.
The males agree closely with the holotype female in the characteristic structure and armature of P1. The bifurcate nature of the middle seta on endopod segment 3 in the holotype is regarded as aberrant. The mouthparts are generally very similar in the males and the female. The male Mxp differs from the female in the structure of the 3rd segment, but the male Mxp of Neotisbella gigas<*em> and Volkmannia forficula also exhibit this character whereas their respective females do not.

Espèce Bathyidia remota - Planche 3 de figures morphologiquesissued from : G.A. Boxshall in Bull. Br. Mus. nat. Hist. (Zool.), 1979, 35 (3). [p.216, Fig.5].
Male: A-D, P1 to P4; E, 3rd exopod segment of P4 (posterior); F, 2nd and 3rd endopod segments of P4 (posterior); G, urosome.
Scale 0.1 mm.
