Triconia thoresoni  (Heron & Frost, 2000)   (F,M)
Syn.: Oncaea thoresoni Heron & Frost, 2000 (p.1026, figs.F,M, tab.2, 3)
Ref.:
Nishibe & Ikeda, 2004 (p.931, Rem. p.933; Tab. 2, 4, 5)
Espèce Triconia thoresoni - Planche 1 de figures morphologiquesissued from : G.A. Heron & B.W. Frost in Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 2000, 113 (4). [p.1029, Fig.6]. As Oncaea thoresoni.
Female (from NE Pacific): A-B, habitus (dorsal and lateral, respectively; scale bar: r); C, urosome (dorsal; scale bar: v); D, left A1 (scale bar: t); E, left A2 (scale bar: s); F, labrum (scale bar: u); H, right Mx1 (scale bar: u).
Scale bars: 0.1 mm, see figures 3, 4, 5, 10 of Heron and Frost, 2000 for Oncaea canadensis and Oncaea insolita.

Nota: Pediger 2 with dorsoposterior pfojection in lateral view. Gonopore with spiniform setume. Caudal ramus about 3 times as long as wide and approximately same length as that of sum of the 2 segments posterior to genital segment.

Espèce Triconia thoresoni - Planche 2 de figures morphologiquesissued from : G.A. Heron & B.W. Frost in Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 2000, 113 (4). [p.1030, Fig.7]. As Oncaea throresoni.
Female: right Mx2 (scale bar: v); B, left Mxp (scale bar: t); C-F, P1 to P4 (scale bar: t).

Male: G, habitus (dorsal; scale bar: r).

Scale bars: 0.1 mm, see figures 3, 4, 5, 10 of Heron and Frost, 2000 for Oncaea canadensis and Oncaea insolita.

Nota: P2-P4 with terminal cone. P5 with oblong free segment; 2 subequal setae, the longer spiniform; outer basal seta. P6 represented by spiniform setule on gonopore.

Espèce Triconia thoresoni - Planche 3 de figures morphologiquesissued from : G.A. Heron & B.W. Frost in Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 2000, 113 (4). [p.1021, Fig.1, B]. As Oncaea thoresoni.
Female: P2-P4 endopod terminal ''spine set'' (combination of the lengths, shapes, and position of the three or two terminal spines on the endopods of swimming legs 2-4 for different Oncaea' species).

Nota: endopod of P2 with terminal spine length reaching about as far as distal margin of cone.

Espèce Triconia thoresoni - Planche 4 de figures morphologiquesissued from : G.A. Heron & B.W. Frost in Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 2000, 113 (4). [p.1031, Fig.8, A-E]. As Oncaea throresoni.
Male: A, habitus (lateral (scale bar: w); B, two posterolateral hooded pore clusters from two cephalosomes (scale bar: x); C, pediger 4 posterior corner and urosome (dorsal (scale bar: x); D, left Mxp (scale bar: x); E, pediger 4 distal corner and segment of P5 (scale bar: x).

Scale bars: 0.1 mm, see figures 3, 4, 5, 10 of Heron and Frost, 2000 for Oncaea canadensis and Oncaea insolita.

Nota: Cephalosome with lateroposterior cluster of small hooded pores (pattern variable, basically with 2 horizontal levels). P4 withn acute angle of posterior corner in lateral view (corner with inner pores). P5 not delimited from thoracic segment (armament similar to that of female). P6 represented by posterolateral point-tipped flap on ventral surface of genital segment.

Carte de distribution de Triconia thoresoni par zones géographiques
Loc:
NW Pacif. (Oyashio region), NE Pacif., Stations 'P', 'Q'.
N: 2
Lg.:
(848) F: 1,22-1,37; M: 0,94-1,11; {F: 1,22-1,37; M: 0,94-1,11}
Rem.: This species closely resembles T. canadensis.
Heron & Frost (2000, p.1017) do not agree that the generic definition of Triconia by Böttger-Schnack (1999) is sufficient to justify inclusion of all of the divergent species she assigned to the new genus.
