Type locality: 42°32' S, 56°29' W.

For Cho & al. (2010, p.135) the distribution of this species is limited to the South Atlantic (off the Argentinean coast) and the records in Korean waters in the previous studies are possibly misidentifications of the current new species Goniopsyllus dokdoensis.
