Mus. Nat.kd. Berl, Zool. Reihe, 2002, 1. [p.89, Figs.1-3]. Female (from 43°5'N, 6°0'E): 1-2, habitus (ventral and dorsal, respectively); 3, distal part of ovigerous spines (dorsal view). Nota: Oral papilla located at about 30% of the way back of the cephalothorax (against 22% in C. thompsoni). The ovigerous spines are slightly shorter in C. nicolettae (37% of total body length) than they are in C. thompsoni (40.5%)

Comparison of main taxonomic features in species of Cymbasoma with a cephalothorax relative length equal or over 60%, females only: C. nicolettae Suarez-Morales, 2002. Mouth position way back anterior part of forehead in percentage of the cephalothorax length. Compare with C. bowmani, C. boxshalli, C. longispinosum, C. morii, C. quintanarooense, C. striatus, C. thompsoni, C. tumorifrons, C. sp. (from Brazil), C. chelemense.
