Pseudodiaptomus jonesi Pillai, 1970 (F,M) | |
| | | | | | Syn.: | Pseudodiaptomus ardjuna : Wellershaus,1969 (p.259) | | | Ref.: | | | Wellershaus, 1970 (p.467, figs.F).Pillai, 1976 (1980) (p.263, figs.F,M); Madhupratap & Haridas, 1989 (p.873, Redescr., figs.F,M) | issued from : S. Wellershaus in Veröff. Inst. Meeresforsch. Bremerh., 1970, 12. [p.468, Figs 17-25]. Female (from Cochin backwater, S. India): 17, habitus (lateral); 18, idem (dorsal); 19, genital segment (combined from two females, ventral); 21, Mxp; 22, Md (mandibular blade); 23, urosome (lateral, left side); 24, A1 (segments 20 to 22); 25, anal segment and caudal rami (dorsal). Nota: Ratio cepfalothorax: urosome = 2.1. Proportions of the urosome 28, 20, 21, 12; caudal ramus 19 %. Head and 1st thoracic segment imperfectly fused, 4th and 5th fused. Genital segment asymmetrical, bears some rows of scattered, very fine spinules on the left lateral surface, only very few on the right surface; ventrally the genital segment bears 2 rows of spines, one on the anterior margin of the genital area proper, and another on the anterior side of this area; the genital area has a pair of appendices near the posterior margin. The posterior margin of genital segment dorsally armed with very fine spinules, 2nd segment with bigger spines, 4th with even bigger spines, anal segment naked. A1 21-segmented.
Scale : single line = 0.1 mm ; double line = 0.05 mm.

Issued from : S. Wellershaus in Veröff. Inst. Meeresforsch. Bremerh., 1969, 11 (2). [p.255, Fig.24]. As Pseudodiaptomus ardjuna. Male ( from SE coast of India): P5. Nota: Ratio cephalothorax : abdomen = 2.3. Proportions of urosomal segments 11, 29, 14.5, 14.5, 13, caudal rami 18 %. Thoracic segments 4 and 5 fused. Tere are spines on the whole posterior margin of abdominal 2, 3 and 4 and additional spinules on the ventral aspect of abdominal 2. A finely serrated shield is seen on anal segment similar to this structure in P. serricaudatus female. The 5th thoracic segment is rounded, this and the preceding segments are without spines.
Scale : single line = 0.1 mm ; double line = 0.05 mm.
