Genital segment asymmetrical: right side in its posterior part with significant projection, left one swollen in its midlength (dorsal view). Configuration of genital segment varying.A1 reaching the end of genital segment - the end of caudal rami. Exopodite of P1 3-segmented with indistinct separation between segment 1 and 2. Endopodite of P2 incompletely 2-segmented. Coxopodite of P4 with 6-10 spines.

Nota: Cephalothorax 2.6-3.3 times longer than urosome. Cephalon and thoracic segment 1 as 4th and 5th segments completely fused. Posterior corners of last thoracic segment rounded, with spines on both sides (removed dorsally). A1 reaching urosomal segment 2. Oral parts reduced in comparison with those in females. Exopodite of P1 3-segmented; external spine on exopodal segment 1 very small. Endopodite of P2 indistinctly 2-segmented. Left exopodal segment 2 of P5 with 2 teeth in the distal part of the segment; exopodal segment 3 about twice longer than wide.

Male (from 66°11'S, 65°10'E): a, habitus (lateral); b, forehead (lateral); c, left Md (manducatory plate). Nota : Head and 1st thoracic somite fused, 4th and 5th fused !a line separating the 4th and 5th thoracic somites visible on the dorsal body surface). Proportional lengths of cephalothorax and urosome as 93 :30. Rostrum 1-pointed, directed downwards, apical portion hidden between the basal parts of A1. Frontal organ distinctly visible, with a pair of minute hairs. Posterolateral thoracic 5 border broadlly rounded, not produced, but armed with a minute, backwardly directed spine ; the spine is not placed exactly at the border, but a small distance from the margin (shape as in Gaetanus intermedius. Urosome 5-segmented ; somites and caudal rami proportional lengths 18 :28 :21 :18 :4 :11 = 100. Genital segment asymmetrical, with distinctly produced genital orifice at the left side. Ventral and dorsal borders of the 2nd-4th urosomal segments set with a row of small spinules. Caudal rami about as long as wide, densely haired along both margins. Md with manducatory plate much reduced in size, the cutting edge is very small and no distinct teeth

Proportional lengths of cephalothorax and urosome as 22 :5. Urosome notably short. Rostrum curved , almost completely hidden between the basal portions of A1, 1-pointed with an acute apex ; Frontal organ (a pair of small hairs) visible laterally. 5th thoracic somite notably small, laterally visible as a slender strip along a part of the 4th, broadly rounded and carries a patch of fine, long hairs along its distal border. Urosome 4-segmented ; proportional lengths with the caudal rami : 40:22:20:8:10 = 100. Genital somite of very characteristic shape.

Mx1 with 1st inner lobe carrying 9 strong, setiform spines, in addition there are 4 smaller spines on the anterior surface of the lobe and 1 spine on its posterior surface, the lobe is slightly haired distally ; 1st outer lobe with 9 setae (7 of which very long, strong and plumose), the more basal 2 setae delicate and nude ; 2nd inner lobes with 4 setae and 1 appendicular seta, the distal border haired ; 3rd inner lobe with 4 setae. 2nd basal segment with near the apex 4 strong setae and 1 smaller appendicular seta ; exopod very small, with 11 setae ; endopod 3-segmented (segments indistinctly separate (arrangement of the setae 4 + 1 appendicular, 3+ 1 appendicular, 5 + 2 appendicular, respectively).
