Female (from Celebes Sea): a, habitus (dorsal); b, forehead (lateral); c-d, metasomal somite 5 and urosome (lateral and dorsal, respectively); e, P5.
Nota: Cephalon and metasomal segment 1 separate ; 4th and 5th metasomal segments fused.
Posterolateral ends of metasome produced into symmetrical acuminate lobes and reaching proximal 1/4 of urosomal segment 1. In dorsal surface the segment is very spinous.
Urosome 2-segmented. Urosomal segment 1 elongated, asymmetrical, 1 small process present at 1/3 length of distal end on right margin ; left margin with 1 spine-like process extending beyond urosomal segment 2. Urosomal segment 2 asymmetrical, with anal lamina.
Caudal rami asymmetrical, right ramus slightly longer than left, each ramus with 5 plumose and 1 small setae.
A1 16-segmented, reaching base of urosomal segment 1.
P5 asymmetrical with spiniform exopod, right leg, basis with 1 seta on posterior surface; exopod with 2 minute outer spinules and 3 spines at apex, inner margin of exopod with 1 strong spine at distal half. Left leg with 2 outer spines, 1 set of 3 small spines and 1 stout and thick spine at apex with 2 small spinules on anterior surface ; basis with 1 line of denticles on outer surface, just posterior of seta ; endopod bifid. The species resembles
P. macronyx in the form of P5, but is distinguished from the latter by the shape of urosomal somite 1 and the form of P5.
