Female (from 29.533°N, 137.233°E): A, habitus (dorsal); B, forehead (dorsal view); C, anterior head (lateral); D, urosome (dorsal); ; E, genital double-somite (lateral); F, A1; G, P1 (posterior view). Scale bars: 1.0 mm on all figure Nota; - Forehead in dorsal view produced into distinct short rounded projection located dorsal to base of rostrum and bearing pair of small stout divergent spine-like processes. - In lateral view , Posterolateral corners of pediger 5 symmetrical, rounded. - Genital double-somite bulbous, symmetrical in dorsal view, slightly wider than long, widest width at approximately midlength, with small anteroventral genital operculum, seminal receptacles not observed. - A1 26-segmented (ancestral segments II-IV fused and X-XI partly separate). - P1 exopod with articulation between exopodal segments 2 and 3 well-developed.

| | | Loc: | | | Eastern and Western North Pacific and the Atlantic off West Africa near the Cape Verde Islands.
Type locality: 29.5333° N, 137.233° E. | | | N: | 1 | | | Lg.: | | | (1316) F: 9,3-10,90; {F: 9,30-10,90} | | | Rem.: | Abyssopelagic species 2000-3000 m. For Bradford -Grieve & al; (2017, p.108) the species is very like Bathycalanus richardi except the genital double-somite is of a bulbous shape in dorsal view, widest at midlength and wider than long; Mx1 praecoxal arthrite has 4 posterior surface setae, unnlike any other species of Bathycalanus. After the authors cited, the genetic distance data suggest that this species may represent an as yet unrecognised genus. | | | Dernière mise à jour : 13/08/2018 | |
