|
issued from : R.N. Wolfenden in Die Marinen Copepoden der Deutschen Südpolar-Expedition 1901-1903, 1911. [Pl.XXIX, Figs.8-11]. Female: 8, habitus (lateral); 9, P1; 10, P2; 11, P3.
|
issued from : H.S.J. Roe in Bull. British Mus. (Natural History) Zool., London, 1975, 28 (7). [p.310, Fig.8]. Male (from Cape Verde Islands): a, habitus (dorsal); b, forehead and rostrum (left lateral side); c, A2; d, mandibular palp; e, Mx1; f, Mx2; g, Mxp; h, P1; i, P2; j, P3; k, P4; l, P5. Bar scale 0.1 mm unless indicated. Nota: This male was found with two undoubted females of V. minor. Both the females have the very characteristic chitinous ridge on the dorsal side of the genital segment. The present male is very similar to that described by Scott. As far as can be seen from his description it differs only in having the 4th and 5th thoracic segments and the 1st and 2nd exopodite segments of the right P5 partially fused instead of completely so. I think that Scott's male and the present specimen are conspecific.
