Last thoracic segment asymmetrical.
Rostrum one-pointed, unevenly produced at the apex.
Abdomen 4-segmented, 2.75 times in the length of cephalothorax; segments and furca in the proportional lengths 42 : 19 : 16 : 14 : 9 = 100.
Genital segment has a small swelling on each of the lateral margin near the base.
2nd and 3rd abdominal segments fringed with fine teeth on the distal margin.
Caudal rami as long as wide, with 4 apical setae of which the 2nd is the longest.
A1 23-segmented, reaches back to the posterior margin of the last thoracic segment; segments 8-9, 24-25 fused, respectively.
A2: endopod and exopod of about equal lengths; exopod 7-segmented, 1st basal segment with fine hairs on the posterior surface.
Md: Bitting edge with 2 large spiniform teeth on the upper margin, the inner marginal seta of the blade strong; exopod 5-segmented, with s small terminal segment devoided of setae.
Mx1: 4 setae on the outer lobe; 10 setae on the exopod; 1 seta on the endopod; 1 seta on the 3rd inner lobe; 1 seta on the 2nd inner lobe; 8 setae on the 1st inner lobe.
Mx2 strong with peculiar setae on the distal segments.
Mxp feeble.
P5 3-segmented; apical spine of the 3rd segment of the exopod about as long as the combined lengths of 3 segments of the exopod taken together; outer marginal spine small.

Male: j, last thoracic segment and urosome (dorsal); k, P5.

Espèce Temorites similis - Planche 2 de figures morphologiquesIssued from : T. S. Park in Bull. Mar. Sc., 1970, 20 (2). [p.540, Figs.386-390]. As Bathypontia similis.

Nota: Last metasomal segment asymmetrical, with right side more produced distally. A1 (24-segmented) reaching middle of urosome.

Espèce Temorites similis - Planche 3 de figures morphologiquesIssued from : T. S. Park in Bull. Mar. Sc., 1970, 20 (2). [p.542, Figs.391-402]. As Bathypontia similis.
Female: 391, rostrum (anterior view); 392, A2; 393, Md (mandibular blade); 394, Md (mandibular palp); 395, Mx1; 396, Mx2; 397, Mxp; 398, P1 (anterior); 399, P2 (anterior); 400, P3 (anterior); 401, P4 (anterior); 402, P5.

Nota: A2 7-segmented, 2nd to 6th segments each with 1 seta.
Mx1: 2nd and 3rd inner lobes and basis each with 1 seta; exopod with 10 setae; endopod absent.
Distal portion of Mx2 with 6 subequal, strong setae in addition to 5 small setae of different length; proximal three lobes with 1, 2, 3 setae, respectively; close to the 1st lobe are 2 patches of spinules.

Espèce Temorites similis - Planche 4 de figures morphologiquesissued from : G.B. Deevey in Proc. Biol. Soc. Wash., 1979, 92 (4). [p.740, Fig.9 g-i]. As Bathypontia similis.
