Nota: The right lateral process on the genital somite bears a fingerprint-like structure. This structure could serve as auxiliary devices, however, the copulatory behaviour must be directly observed in order to reveal their precise function. These putative cleaning devices are associated with mechanoreceptors such as peg- and hair-sensilla which suggests that grooming may also be important during mating.
