issued from : W. Vervoort in Crustaceana, 1964, 7 (4). [p.299, Fig.4]. From E Tasman (42°S, 149°30'E) Male: a, habitus (dorsal); b, forehead (lateral); c, distal part cephalothorax and urosome (dorsal); d, idem (lateral right side); e, idem (lateral left side). Nota: Head and 1st thoracic segment are fused (the line of fusion is still visible on the sides). The are no differences in shape and structue of the A2, mouth parts and legs 1 to 4.

issued from : W.S. Fairbridge in J. R. Soc. west Aust., 1944, 28. [p.213, Pl.I]. Female (from off Fremantle in Cockburn Sound): 1, P5; 2, last thoracic segment and urosome (ventral; 5, urosome (lateral, left side); 6, idem (dorsal). Nota:The mouth parts agree with those figured for C. typicus by Giesbrecht (1892) and Sars (1900). The P5 differs from C. typicus in the endopod, the 2nd segmentbeing as long or longer than the terminal and distinctly narrowed at the base, and the basal segment broadened distally. The 2nd urosomal segment is very long compared wih the genital and anal segments (proportions of urosomal segments 23:34:10:18. The genital segment bears only 2 spines, 1 dorso-lateral and 1 ventro-lateral, both on the left side, the latter very small; the 2nd segment bears a hooked knob on its right side. The 5th thoracic segment is only slightly asymmetrical, the left side being the larger. Male: 3, last thoracic segment and urosome (dorsal); 4, P5. Nota: P5 differs markedly from C. typicus in that the basal portion of the chela is much narrower, resembling the type found in C. hamatus. The urosome agrees with C. typicus. The spines of the last thoracic segment are asymmetrical, the right being much smaller than the left. The specimens taken in Corkburn Sound appear to be identical with those found of New South Wales and figured by Dakin & Colefax (1940) as a variety of C. kroyeri (Giesbrecht, 1892). On comparison with some drawings made by Nicholls, this species appears to be identical also with a Centropagid found by him in 1939 at Crawley Bay in the Swan River.

issued from : W.S. Fairbridge in J. R. Soc. west Aust., 1944, 28. [p.214, Pl.II]. Male: 7, right A1; 8, P4; 9, P3 (1st and 2nd exopod segments). Nota: A1 has a distinct spine on segments 15 and 16 (Sars does not figure a spine on segment 15 for C. typicus, and Giesbrecht indicates a minute one); there is an incomplete division between segments 22 and 23 (as indicated by Giesbrecht for C. typicus, but Sars shows a complete division). The other mouth parts agree with those for C. typicus.
