The species appears to be related to E. plana Mori, 1937, redescribed by Tanaka (1958). The obvious difference in the location of the genital swelling. After Park (1995,27) the species can be readily recognized by its genital somite, the prominence of which is located close to the proximal end of the somite, unlike any other known species in the genus. E. wrighti seems to belong to either the concinna or acuta species Group.
