Nota: The proportional lengths of the cephalothorax and abdomen as 67 to 33. In P1 the marginal spine on 1st segment of the exopod is absent.

Nota: With (1915, p.182) points out that this species is nearly related to P. sarsi (Farran), but is easily distinguished by the structure of the genital somite, by 9 setae in the outer lobe of Mx1.

This form seems to be identical with the male of P. hanseni described by Park (1975 c, p.17).

gf = genital flange.

Male: c, forehead (lateral); d, exopod of left P5 (anterior); e, same (lateral); f, same (medial).

The male described is believed to represent the hitherto unknown male of E. hansenii, for it usually found along with the female of that species and is the closet to it in body size.

Espèce Paraeuchaeta hanseni - Planche 14 de figures morphologiquesissued from : H.B. Owre & M. Foyo in Fauna Caribaea, 1967, 1, Crustacea, 1: Copepoda. [p.53, Figs.320-321]. As Euchaeta hansenii].

Male (from 23°40'N, 83°17'W): 351, habitus (lateral); ; 352, P5; 353, terminal segment of left P5.

Nota: The specimen male was collected from 800-900 m. With (1915) descibed it as the male of Euchaete Sarsi but expressed doubt as belonging to ''E. sarsi'' or another species of similar size nearly related to it.
E. withi (Sewell, 1947), known exclusively from the male, seems to be identical with the male of E. hansenii described.
