Espèce Heterorhabdus paraspinosus - Planche 2 de figures morphologiquesissued from : T. Park in Bull. Scripps Inst. Oceanogr. Univ. California, San Diego, 2000, 31. [p.255, Fig.103].
Female: a, left Mx2 (posterior).
Nota: Mx2: Posterior subterminal spine of 4th lobe 29% as long as 2nd saberlike spine; falcate spine of 5th lobe with proximal 48% of medial margin finely serrated with short spinules; falcate spine of 6th lobe with proximal 66% of medial margin serrated with relatively long spinules.

Male: b, c, basipod of right P5 (anterior, posterior, respectively); d right P5 (endopod omitted), anterior; e, distal end of exopod of right P5 (lateral); f, second exopodal segment of right P5 (posterior); g, left P5 (anterior); h, exopod of left P5 (anterior).

Espèce Heterorhabdus paraspinosus - Planche 3 de figures morphologiquesHeterorhabdus paraspinosus female:
1 - See key to species groups of Heterorhabdus: ''abyssalis'' Group (p.90, 114).
2 - Genital somite without a conical projection mediodorsally (Fig.102-a, d).
3 - Laterally, genital somite with a tubercular outgrowth posteriorly on dorsal margin (Fig.102-a).

Espèce Heterorhabdus paraspinosus - Planche 4 de figures morphologiquesHeterorhabdus paraspinosus male:
1 - See key to species groups of Heterorhabdus: ''abyssalis'' Group (p.90, 114).
2 - Basis of left P5 without a well-developed inner lobe (Fig.103-g).
3 - Basal inner lobe of right P5 armed with normal bristles (Fig.103-b, c).
4 - 3rd exopodal segment of right P5 with a short terminal lobe, equal to 1/3 length of terminal spine (Fig.103-d, e).
5 - Basal lobe of right P5 arising from anteromedial side of segment (Fig.103-d).
6 - 2nd exopodal segment of left P5 with outer spine not borne on a conical process (Fig.103-h).
7 - 3rd exopodal segment of right P5 with terminal spine about 1/3 length of terminal lobe (Fig.103-e).

Carte de distribution de Heterorhabdus paraspinosus par zones géographiques
Loc:
Sub-Antarct. (S Tasman Sea), off W South Africa, S off Chilean coast.

Type locality: 14,32°27' S, 08°49' E.

Park (2000, p.132) found the species from the west coast of South Africa in the southeastern Atlantic between 33°47' S and 31°09' S; from off the Chilean coast at 46°55' S, 75°50' W; in the Tasman Sea at 49)39' S, 152°34' E. This species seems to be restricted in distribution to the coastal waters of the subantarctic coastal waters.
