Paralubbockiidae Boxshall & Huys, 1988/89 | Ref.: | Boxshall & Huys, 1988/89 (p.172); Huys & Boxshall, 1991 (p.465); Razouls, 1993 (p.313); Boxshall & Halsey, 2004 (p.17; 622: Def.; Rem. p.1: ces auteurs mettent en cause l'existence de l'ordre des Poecilostomatoida) | Rem.: | 1G. Paralubbockia. Total : 1 sp. After Boxshall & Halsey (2004, p.622) the genus was originally placed in the Oncaeidae, with some reservations because of differences in the structure of A2 and swimming legs. Boxshall & Huys (1988-1989) established a new family for Paralubbockia, on the basis of these differences and the extreme plesiomorphic condition of the ventrally located P5. The family retains a trace of the geniculation mechanism in the male A1, as indicated by the distal fusion of segments that remain separate in the adult female. | Issued from Boxshall & Halsey in The Ray Society, 2004, Part II. [p.622]. Armature formula of swimming legs P1 to P4. Nota: Inner seta on basis 1 absent. Inner coxal seta absent in all legs. - P5 uniramous, located ventrally on somite, either side of midline; protopod incorporated into somite, represented by outer seta; exopod 1-segmented, armed with 2 distal setae; length and ornamentation of exopodal setae markedly sexually dimorphic. - P6 represented by genital operculum bearing 2 setae in female; unarmed in male. |
