Pontellopsis grandis (Lubbock, 1853) (F,M) | |
| | | | | | Syn.: | Monops grandis Lubbock, 1853 b (p.122); Pontellopsis regalis : C.B. Wilson, 1950 (part., p.310, figs.F,M); Tanaka, 1964 c (p.266, figs.F, No M) | | | Ref.: | | | Bradford-Grieve, 1999 b (p.206, figs.F,M, Rem., figs.186, 187) | issued from : Bradford-Grieve J.M. in The Marine Fauna of New Zealand: Pelagic Calanoid Copepoda. Distribution map of Pontellopsis grandis by geographical zones
|
| | | Loc: | | | New Zealand (N & NE North Island), Pacif. (? Hawaii), Japan (Izu region), S Atlant. | | | N: | 2 (+1 ?) | | | Lg.: | | | (909) F: 3,95-4,11; {F: 3,95-4,11} | | | Rem.: | A considerable confusion reigns between the species described by Lubbock (1853) and Pontellopsis regalis because of the synonymy established by Giesbrecht (1892). For Bradford-Grieve (1999 b, p.207) the species are distinct. The locality records for the two species are difficult to specify. According to Bradford (1999, p.207) Lubbock's name has been reinstated for the Southwest Pacific females because no intergrades exist between the different types of P. regalis. | | | Last update : 14/06/2022 | |
