Acartia (Euacartia) sarojus  Madhupratap & Haridas, 1994   (F,M)
Ref.:
Madhupratap & Haridas, 1994 (p.71, figs.F,M); Soh & al., 2013 (p.718, Rem.p.723, Table 1, fig.9: chart).
Species Acartia (Euacartia) sarojus - Plate 1 of morphological figuresissued from : M. Madhupratap & P. Haridas in Hydrobiologia, 1994, 292/293. [p.69, Fig.1].
Female (22°20'N, 69°30'E): G, habitus (dirsal); H, urosome (dorsal); I, idem (right lateral view) with spermatophore fixed.

Male: J, habitus (dorsal); K, urosome (dorsal).Br>
Nota female, male:
- Urosomal somites as in Acartia southwelli in both sexes.
- Posterior corners of pediger 5 rounded.
- Urosome without ornamentation; proportion infemale 46 : 19 : 13 : 22 = 100; in male 11 : 29 : 23 : 8 : 12 : 17 = 100.
- Details of mouthparts and legs 1-4 as in Acartia southwelli except that cutting edge of Md.

Species Acartia (Euacartia) sarojus - Plate 2 of morphological figuresissued from : M. Madhupratap & P. Haridas in Hydrobiologia, 1994, 292/293. [p.71, Fig.3].
Female: F, masticatory edge of the gnathobase of Md.

Species Acartia (Euacartia) sarojus - Plate 3 of morphological figuresissued from : M. Madhupratap & P. Haridas in Hydrobiologia, 1994, 292/293. [p.73, Fig.5].
Female: C, P5.

Male: D, P5.

Species Acartia (Euacartia) sarojus - Plate 4 of morphological figuresIssued from : H.Y. Soh, S.Y. Moon, E.O. Park & B.A.V. Maran in J. Crustacean Biol., 2013, 33 (5). [p.727, Table 1].
Comparison of morphological features between A. forticrusa and its congeners A. southwelli and A. sarojus

Distribution map of Acartia (Euacartia) sarojus by geographical zones
Loc:
NW India (G. of Kutch).
N: 2
Lg.:
(186) F: 0,91-0,85; M: 0,83-0,78; {F: 0,85-0,91; M: 0,78-0,83}
Rem.: After Mahdupratap & Haridas (1994, p.73-74), this species differs from Acartia southwelli in some details of the P5 male and female. For the authors it is conceivable that the new species A. sarojus became isolated from the parental population in the process and speciated allopatrically or parapatrically.
