Amallothrix robusta (T. Scott, 1894) (F) | |
| | | | | | Syn.: | Scolecithrix (Amallophora) robusta T. Scott, 1894 b (p.56, Descr.F, figs.F); Scolecithrix robusta : Giesbrecht & Schmeil, 1898 (p.47, Rem.F); Farran, 1908 b (p.57); 1929 (p.246); 1929 (p.208, 246, Rem.F); Sewell, 1948 (p.523); Scolecithricella robusta : Sewell, 1948 (p.502, 514, 517); Park, 1980 (p.29); no Scolecithricella (Amallothrix) robusta : Vervoort, 1957 (p.105, figs.F, Rem.); ? Séret, 1979 (p.121, figs.juv.F); Scaphocalanus robustus : With, 1915 (p.202, figs.F, Rem.); Rose, 1933 a (p.150); Sewell, 1948 (p.502); C.B. Wilson, 1950 (p.330, figs.F, Rem.); Ganapati & Shanthakumari, 1962 (p.8, 16); Grice & Hulsemann, 1965 (p.224); Scolecithricella (Amallothrix) robusta : Björnberg, 1973 (p.332) | | | Ref.: | | | Park, 1982 (p.77, Rem.); Bradford & al., 1983 (p.78); Vyshkvartzeva, 1999 (2000) (p.235); Vives & Shmeleva, 2007 (p.740, figs.F, Rem.) | issued from : G.P. Farran in Fish. Ire. Sci. Invest., 1906, II [1908]. [Pl. VI, Fig.5]. As Scolecithrix robusta. Female (from W Ireland): 5, P5.
|
issued from : C. With in The Danish Ingolf-Expedition, Copepoda I, 1915, III, 4. [p.203, Text-fig. 64]. As Scaphocalanus robustus. Female (from 57°47'N, 11°33'W): a, forhead (lateral); b, last thoracic segment and genital segment (left lateral); c, left exopodal segments 1 and 2. Nota: Mx1 possess 4 amalliform and 4 vermiform sensory appendages. When the swimming legs sitting on the animal are examined from the side, a curious difference is found between the P1-P3 and the P4 as in related species; the posterior surface of the three first pairs is seen to be excavated, while that of the P4 appears cylindric, and in lateral view is almost twice as deep as that of the P3. P1 is very much like of S. globiceps (= Amallothrix gracilis), but the outer seta of exopodite 1 scarcely extends to the end of exopodal segment 2; The terminal seta has 30 short, well separated teeth. This species seems related to (= Amallothix emarginata, but differs by a more robust shape, by the structure of P3, and by the longer A1.
