See : M. dubioides, M. fosshageni, M. reticulata, M. sarsi, Cymbasoma gracilis, M. ferrari, M. dubia, M. angustipes, Monstrillopsis sp. Key for the identification of the currently known species of Monstrillopsis (female only) after Suarez-Morales & al. (2006, p.105): 1 - Outer lobe of P5 without distal elongation; last antennular segment less than 45% of A1 length; body length less than 3 mm. .... 2. 2 - 5th pedigerous somite with lateral margins straight; genital somite not expanded proximally; A1 representing more than 30% of total body length; 5 caudal setae.

(2006, p.104), this species from the Black Sea represents an enigmatic form. The female has most of the characters of the genus (sensu Sars, 1921) except the most important: the presence of 4 caudal setae. The authors have proposed to retain this species as an aberrant form of Monstrillopsis until new confirmation. | | | Dernière mise à jour : 21/04/2020 | |
