Male: F, habitus (lateral; scale bar: W); G-H, pediger 4 posterior corner and urosome (dorsal and lateral, respectively; scale bar: X); I, right Mxp (posterior; scale bar: X). Scale bars: 0.1 mm, see figures 3, 4, 5, 10 of Heron and Frost, 2000 for Oncaea canadensis and Oncaea insolita.
Planche 4 Issued from : S.J. Malt in Bull. Br. Mus. nat. Hist. (Zool), 1982, 42 (3). [p.199, Fig.5]. As Oncaea hispida with doubt. Female (from 20°N, 21°W): a, habitus (lateral); b, urosome (dorsal); c, A1; d, A2; e, Md; f, Mx2; g, Mxp; h, labrum (lamella missing).
Female: Ratio prosome/ urosome 1.75 : 1. - 3rd prosomal segment without dorsal projection. - Proportional lengths of urosomal segments and caudal rami 8 : 48 : 7 : 7 : 18 : 12. - Genital apparatus located on dorsal surface anterior to midpoint of genital segment, each area armed with a setule. - Maximum width of genital segment at level of genital apparatus; length to width ratio 1.6 : 1. - Caudal rami 1.3 times as long as wide. - Appendages similar to those described by Heron with only minor differences.
Planche 5 Issued from : S.J. Malt in Bull. Br. Mus. nat. Hist. (Zool), 1982, 42 (3). [p.200, Fig.6, a-d]. As Oncaea hispida with doubt. Female: a, P1; b, P2; c, P3; d, P4.
Planche 6 Issued from : S.J. Malt in Bull. Br. Mus. nat. Hist. (Zool), 1982, 42 (3). [p.200, Fig.6, e-g]. As Oncaea hispida with doubt. Male (from 20°N, 21°W): e, habitus (dorsal); f, urosome (ventral; specimen distorted); g, Mxp.
Male: Ratio of prosome and urosome lengths 2 : 1. - Head 1.2 times longer than wide. - Proportional lengths of urosomal segments and caudal rami 10 : 51 : 3 : 3 : 3 : 18 : 12. - Genital lappets produced into small posterior processes. - Genital segment with length to widts ratio 1.5 : 1. - Caudal rami about as long as wide. Mouthparts similar to those of female except A1 and Mxp. The 3 distal segments of A1 fused. - Mxp 3-segmented, 1st segment unarmed, 2nd segment bearing 2 rows of dentiform processes on internal surface, terminal claw unarmed. P1-P5 similar to those of female.

Carte 3 issued from : G.A. Heron & B.W. Frost in Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 2000, 113 (4). [p.1061, Fig.25]. Locality records for selected species of Conaea. Records include previously published personal observations and data presented in this study (p.1023, Table 3).
Sampling depth (Antarct.) : 1000-2000 m. Heron & Bradford-Grieve (1995, p.46) ne considèrent pas la forme décrite par Malt (1982) comme synonyme. Heron & Frost (2000) la considère comme synonyme.
