Maemonstrilla ohtsukai  Suarez-Morales & McKinnon, 2014   (F)
Ref.:
Suarez-Morales & McKinnon, 2014 (p.319, Descr.F, figs.F, Rem.)
Espèce Maemonstrilla ohtsukai - Planche 1 de figures morphologiquesIssued from : E. Suarez-Morales & A.D. McKinnon in Zootaxa, 2014, 3779 (3). [p.320, Fig.11].
Female (from 25°37.973'S, 113°43.846'E): A, habitus (dorsal); B, cephalic area of holotype (38°35.344'S, 144°59.687'E) showing cuticular reticulation (ventral); C, habitus (lateral); D, cephalic area of paratype specimen (ventral).
Scale bars: A, C = 100 µm; B, D = 50 µm.

Nota: Cephalothorax representing up to 64 % of total body length (measured from the anterior end of cephalothorax to the posterior end of the anal somite), not bulbous, with reticulate pattern of low ridges on dorsal and ventral surfaces, reticulation reaching pedigerous somites 2-4 and observed also on antennular segments. High reticular ridges on ly on ''forehead'' region.
A1 relatively long, representing 42 % of cephalothorax length.
Oral papilla relatively small, located anteriorly, about 20 % of way back along ventral surface of cephalothorax.
Pair of relatively large ocelli present, pigment cups weakly developed, separated by less than 1/2 eye diameter, unpigmented; ventral cup slightly larger than lateral cups.
3 pairs of nipple-like cuticular processes on anterior ventral surface between A1 bases and oral papilla (arrowed in fig.11B, C).
A1 4-segmented, with weak division between segments 3 and 4.
1st pedigerous somite incorporated into cephalothorax.

Espèce Maemonstrilla ohtsukai - Planche 2 de figures morphologiquesIssued from : E. Suarez-Morales & A.D. McKinnon in Zootaxa, 2014, 3779 (3). [p.321, Fig.12].
Female: A, urosome showing P5, ovigerous spines, and weak posteroventral protuberance of genital compound somite (arrow), lateral view; B, urosome (dorsal); C, urosome showing ovigerous spines and position of genital pore (arrow), ventral view; D, same, another specimen, showing caudal rami with arrowed seta VII and P5.
Scale bars: A-D = 50 µm.

Nota: P5 paired, rod-like, with 2 setae (1 distal and 1 subdistal); legs reaching to posterior margin of preanal somite.
Urosome consisting of 4 somites: 5th pedoigerous somite, compound genital somite with transverse suture at midlength, and 2 free post genital somites (preanal and anal somites).
Ventral surface of genital somite bearing ovigerous spines arising from low conical projection of anterior half of compound somite. Posterior half of genital compound somite with weakly developed ventral protuberance (arrowed in fig.12A).
Copulatory opening located on ventral surface at posterior base of ovigerous spine cone (arrowed in fig.12C).
Tips of ovigerous spines reaching to between P2 and posterior margin of cephalothorax. Spines cylindrical, smooth, and straight in proximal 2/3; distal 1/3 either with moderately swollen bulbous process or tapering and curving distally.
Caudal rami subrectangular, weakly divergent, approximately 1.8 times longer than wide, each ramus bearingt 6 setae. Inner dorsal seta thinnest (seta VII of Huys & Boxshall, 1991, p.30), arrowed in fig.12D.

Espèce Maemonstrilla ohtsukai - Planche 3 de figures morphologiquesIssued from : E. Suarez-Morales & A.D. McKinnon in Zootaxa, 2014, 3779 (3). [p.322, Fig.13].
Female: A, P1 with coxal sclerite; B, P2 with coxal sclerite; C, P3; D, P4; E, ornamentation of outer apical spiniform seta of 3rd exopodal segment of P2; F, right A1 (dorsal view).
Scale bars: A, C-E = 100 µm; B = 25 µm.

Espèce Maemonstrilla ohtsukai - Planche 4 de figures morphologiquesIssued from : E. Suarez-Morales & A.D. McKinnon in Zootaxa, 2014, 3779 (3). [p.319].
Female: Armature formula of swimming legs P1 to P4.
Spines : Roman numerals; setae : Arabic numerals.

Rem.: After Suarez-Morales & McKinnon (2014, p.323) this species is assignable to the M. hyottoko species group as difined by Grygier & Othsuka (2008) mainly its having a reticulate pattern of cuticular ridges on the cephalothorax, A1, and pedigerous somites, no inner seta on the 1st exopodal segment of P1-P4, and unbranched, rod-like P5 with 2 distal or subdistal setae.
