Exopods of P1 to P4 3-segmented, endopods of P1 2-segmented, of P2 to P4 3-segmented. Left P5 5-segmented with hair on internal margin of 2nd and 3rd segments; right P5 5-segmented

Bathypelagic. For Grice & Hulsemann (1967, p.39) this species resembles the male of Isosalanus major Wolfenden (1906, 1911), but the small size and the inflated and pubescent 2nd segment of the left P5 will distinguish it from Bathypontia major (= Temorites elongata).
