Geographic Distribution of Pelagic Copepods in the Mediterranean > Abstract

Geographic distribution of pelagic copepods, or in particular situations (hyperbenthic forms and submarine excavations), from the origins to 2019 in the Mediterranean.

Abstract :

An inventory of progymnopleans, gymnopleans and podopleans species, pelagic or in situations of particular habitat, is realized from their reports at the origin (1892) until 2019 for the Mediterranean. Their presence in the surrounding seas at the west (tropical and temperate North East Atlantic) and east (Red Sea, Indian Ocean) is noted. The probable origin of Mediterranean species is considered.

Key words: Pelagic Copepods, Mediterranean

To note :

All the data indicated in this chapter concerning the distributions of species (numbers and poucentages) are automatically updated starting from the information inserted in our database.
This chapter is thus constantly reactualized and includes, in particular, the new species inserted in our base, as well as the lastest distributions of recorded species.
