Carte de distribution de Pontella patagoniensis par zones géographiques
Espèce Pontella patagoniensis - Carte de distribution 2Issued from : A.K. Heinrich inTrudy Inst. Okeanol., 1974, 98 [p.44, Fig.2].
Distibution of four species of Pontellidae from SW Atlantic (Cruise of the R/V 'Akademik Kurchatov' 1971 and 1972).
Points = stations; square= Pontella atlantica ; asterisk= Pontella marplatensis ; triangle= Pontella securifer; circle = Pontellopsis perspicax.
Loc:
Atlant. (Patagonia, off Mar del Plata), S Brazil, Arrial do Cabo (Espirito Santo state), G of Mexico (Texas: Aransas Ship Channel)
N: 8
Lg.:
(322) F: 2,5; M: 2,7; (480) F: 5,08; M: 5,08; (1229) F: 2,3-3,72; M: 2,5-3,07; {F: 2,3-5,08; M: 2,5-5,08}
Rem.: Epiplagic, neritic.
For Derissio, Ramirez & Manzan (2011, p.1659), after examination of new specimens from the same location (coastal waters off Mar del Plata) described earlier by Ramirez (1966) Pontella marplatensis is a synonym of Pontella patagoniensis (Lubbock, 1853).
For Rosa J.C.L. & Monteiro-Ribas (2012), the occurrence friom P. marplatensis (= P. patagoniensis) might have been introduce to the coast of Espirito Santo, particularly at Arrial do Cabo Bay, from ballast water of ships. In surface, the water temperature was 20.4°C and the salinity 35.4 psu, the number of individuals was 10 by m3.
