Ce: forehead (lateral); Abd: urosome (dorsal). : Nota: Cephalothorax 4 times longer than urosome. Rostrum small. A1 reaching the end of urosomal segment 2. A2 with long exopod and small endopod that is less than half length of exopodal segment 2; coxopodite, basipodite and endopodal segment 1 with 1 seta each. Genital segment with wide round swelling in anterior part of left side and depressed in its midlength on the right. Exopodal segment 1 of P1 with 2 external spines equal in length.

issued from : J.C. von Vaupel Klein in Crustaceana, Supplt 9, Studies on Copepoda, III, 1984. [p.75, Fig.13, c, d]. Conditions of the presence or absence of the single seta (arrows) of group I on the basipodite 1 of Mxp (all right appendages in medial aspect). Euchirella pulchra: c, with small, smooth seta (arrowed). Euchirella pseudopulchra: d, seta absent (arrowed).

issued from : C.C. Davis in Univ. Wash. Publs Biol., 1949, 14. [Pl.3, Figs.42-43]. As Euchirella pulchra. Female (from NE Pacific): 42, forehead (lateral); 43, last thoracic segment and urosome (lateral). Nota : Low crest on the forehead. Rostrum small. Genital segment asymmetrical (in dorsal view), with a depression on the right side and a stout protuberance on the left side. A1 reach about to the caudal rami.

issued from : C.C. Davis in Univ. Wash. Publs Biol., 1949, 14. [Pl.4, Figs.44-48]. Female: 44, basipod of P4; 45, urosome (dorsal); 46, 2nd endopodal segment of A2; 47, A2. Endopod of A2 about 2/5 the length of exopod ; last segment of endopod with 11 setae. 1st basal segment of P4 with 2 or 3 prominent spines on the inner border. Male (with doubt in this species): 48, P5. Nota : Urosome symmetrical, with a very short anal segment that is divided longitudinally. Right P5 with a well developed chela, the outer claw formed by the exopod and the inner claw by the endopod. Left P5 with an extremely rudimentary endopod, so that it appears almost uniramous, the le gis short, somewhat longer than the two segments of the basipod of the right leg.

issued from : J.C. von Vaupel Klein in Crustaceana, Supplt 9, Studies on Copepoda, III, 1984. [p.65, Fig.6 i]. Euchirella pseudopulchra: a, Setal armature of endopodte 2+3 of A2. Conditions are expressed are expressed in formulae as follows: number of setae in regular row on proximal lobe / relative development of seta in position no. 9 on this lobe / number of setae in approximately linear row on terminal lobe / relative development of appendicular seta no. 7 and its supporting pedestral (absent, vestigial, moderate or well developed: see Table I, p.87 and Table II, p.93). upper and lower lobes = proximal and terminal lobes (details of right appendage shown in medial aspect. Scale bar = 0.133 mm. Nota: Condition 7/1/6/1.
|
Euchirella pseudopulchra female: 1 - Genital segment asymmetrical. 2 - Crest present. 3 - Coxopodite of P4 with 2-3 spines.

issued from : T. Park in Crustaceana, 1976, 31 (2). [p.209, Fig.1]. Female: A, habitus (dorsal); B, same (lateral); C, posterior part of body (dorsal); D, same (lateral); E, last metasomal and genital segments (lateral); F, forehead (dorsal); G, same (lateral); H, A2; I, P1 (anterior); J, P2 (anterior); K, P4 (posterior); L, coxa of P4 (posterior). Nota: Proportional length Prosome:Urosome about: 80:20. - Viewed laterally, forehead squarish, a minute crest clearly visible dorsally or laterally. - Rostrum small and single, pointing directly downward. - 1st pediger separated from cephalosome by a clear line of joint, 4th and 5th pedigers fused, with posterolateral corners broadly rounded in lateral view, but angular in dorsal view. - Dorsally, genital segment asymmetrical, with a broad, round swelling anteriorly on left side and a depression midway on right side. Dorsal wall of genital segment markedly hollow, with a low ridge anteriorly on right side. Genital swelling pronounced, occupying distal part of segment. - A1 reaching distal end of 2nd urosomal segment. - A2 with long exopod and small endopod, about 1/2 the length of 1st exopodal segment; 2 distal lobes of endopod, each with 6 setae. - Mx1 with 13 setae on 1st, 4 on 2nd, and 2 on 3rd inner lobe; 3 on basis, 4 on endopod, 11 on exopod, and 6 on outer lobe. - Mx2 with 5 lobes of approximately equal size, each bearing 3 setae, and small distal part provided with 6 setae. - Mxp consisting of thick coxa, slender basis, and short 5-segmented endopod.
